Privacy notice

What we collect

When you request a quotation, create an account or place an order we collect your name, work email, organisation, phone number, delivery and billing addresses, VAT number and the details of what you ordered. Payment card details are processed by Stripe and never reach our servers.

Why

To fulfil and document orders, to meet our legal obligations (tax records, chemical supply records, dangerous-goods documentation) and to answer your enquiries. We validate VAT numbers against the European Commission’s VIES service.

Analytics

We use PostHog (EU-hosted) to understand how the site is used. Analytics data is pseudonymous and is not combined with order data for marketing.

Service providers

Hosting by Vercel, database and file storage in the EU (Supabase, eu-west-1), email by Resend, payments by Stripe.

Retention

Order and invoice records are kept for the period required by Irish tax law (currently six years). Quotation requests are kept for two years. Account data is deleted on request.

Your rights

You may request access to, correction or deletion of your personal data by emailing andrew@liffeymetals.com. You can also complain to the Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie).
