Liffey Chemicals makes all seven in Dublin from silver refined by Liffey Metals. Each production batch is a numbered lot: we assay the silver content, check purity against the specification and record appearance before release, and the results travel with the goods as a certificate of analysis that can also be retrieved by lot number. Silver nitrate and silver sulfate are made to ACS reagent specification; the others are ≥99.9% on a metals basis.
Which salt you need usually follows from the solvent. For anything in water, start with the nitrate. For a base or oxidant that stays out of solution in organic solvents, choose the oxide or carbonate; for the acetate's carboxylate assistance in C–H activation, the acetate. The sulfate replaces the nitrate where nitrate would interfere, and the chloride and the powder are materials rather than reagents.
Pack prices follow the live silver spot price (the silver content of the pack at spot plus a fixed pack fee) and are shown in EUR excluding VAT. Silver nitrate (UN1493, oxidiser) and silver oxide (UN1479, oxidiser) ship as dangerous goods; the other silver compounds travel by standard courier in our pack sizes. All silver compounds are light-sensitive to some degree and are supplied in amber or opaque containers; keep them closed and dark. Our guide to mirror silvering with silver nitrate works through the Brashear and Rochelle salt processes if that is what brought you here.
