Questions and answers

How long does delivery to Hungary take?

3 to 4 working days after dispatch from Dublin by courier. Dangerous goods (silver nitrate, chloroauric acid, chloroplatinic acid and the chloroplatinates) travel by ADR/IATA courier and can take a day longer. Lead time for making or packing the lot is stated on the quotation.

How is VAT charged on deliveries to Hungary?

Hungarian businesses that supply a valid HU VAT number, checked live against the EU VIES register, are invoiced with the reverse charge at 0% VAT (intra-community supply, Article 138 of the VAT Directive). Without a valid VAT number, Irish VAT at 23% is added.

Can I pay in HUF?

Quotes and invoices are in euro (EUR). Hungary uses the HUF; your bank or card provider converts at payment, and we do not quote in HUF. Payment is by bank transfer in EUR against a pro forma invoice.

Which products can be shipped to Hungary?

All 19 catalogue products: silver, gold, palladium and platinum compounds, including the dangerous-goods items, which ship by licensed courier with UN-specification packaging. Compounds not in the catalogue are quoted on request.

Does Hungarian customs or REACH paperwork apply?

No customs: Hungary and Ireland are both in the EU single market, so goods move without import declarations or duty. Our products are supplied for research and industrial use under REACH; the SDS for each product is on its page and the lot certificate of analysis travels with the goods.

Who in Hungary can buy from Liffey Chemicals?

Business, research, analytical and industrial customers only: universities, research institutes, analytical and QC laboratories, catalyst and plating companies and manufacturers, in Budapest, Debrecen and Szeged and everywhere else in Hungary. We do not sell to private individuals.
